The Soul Void is regarded as myth, told to children via old tales, however it does exist. It is an alternate world in which the dead traverse to get to the afterlife. The place is easily invaded by demons, however, searching to prey on the wondering souls. Likewise, the wizards of Nexus have created labs where they can freely practice magic that would likely endanger the city. Angels, conscious beings, also patrol the Soul Void labs to protect it from demon invasions.
